Veteran Queen’s Counsel K. Churchill Neita, says former Australian cricketer Geoff Lawson, must be made to pay dearly for abusive comments about the state of affairs in Jamaica and his attack on West Indies batsman, Marlon Samuels.
Speaking on ‘The Big Breakfast’ program on Australian Radio on Monday, Lawson said Samuels’ connections at home in Jamaica has him in line for a role in the famous movie – ‘The Godfather’.
Lawson referred to the murder statistics in Jamaica and said Samuels is tied up with shady people – including gangsters.
Marlon Samuels has strongly denied the allegations.
Queen’s Counsel Churchill Neita says the comments by the Australian are tantamount to an attack on the Jamaican people.
Mr. Neita says the comments about Samuels cannot be substantiated and the Jamaican should take out a major lawsuit.
