JLP Chairman, Robert Montague, has instructed the party’s four area councils to complete putting their house in order and not be distracted by the ongoing leadership race in the PNP.

Mr. Montague issued the directive when he addressed a JLP Area Council 3 meeting yesterday.

The militant JLP Chairman declared that he attended the Area Council meeting on Labour Party business and not to win friends.

Mr. Montague instructed the JLP Area Council 3 to correct its failure to submit a report on the state of all constituencies in the area.

The JLP Chairman says too many of the party’s candidates appear to be attempting to rely on the popularity of Prime Minister and JLP Leader, Andrew Holness, in order to secure victory in their constituencies.

He says that must change.

The JLP Chairman also instructed labourites not to be distracted by the ongoing leadership race in the opposition party.

August, September, October 30th 1980… Anniversary of the best JLP victory for the party 51 to 9 seats.
All in all 2019 has been the best year for the JLP. After September 7, with a Bunting win… Holness will be on the defensive as Bunting will be talking the challenge to him, with a renewed freshness & the 1 term syndrum feeling in the air. If Holness don’t call the election either October, November or very Early December, his best opportunity *will be gone*
