Govt Makes Historically Early Subvention Disbursement to Schools

Education Minister, Senator Ruel Reid, says his Ministry has disbursed over $1.4-billion in subvention to public schools across the country.

He says it’s the first time in the history of Jamaica that schools are getting their subventions before August. Meanwhile, the Education Minister is appealing to tertiary institutions and the job market to accept new matriculation and entry requirements.

This he says is a part of a push to fully integrate technical education in schools.
