Govt Mum on 60% Cut in JCF Budget

National Security Minister, Robert Montague, says he’ll not reveal publicly what has resulted in a near 60 percent cut in the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Use of Goods and Services budgetary allocation.

The question of the cut was raised by Opposition Spokesman on Security Peter Bunting.

In response, the Minister says the matter raised concerns of National Security and must be discussed privately.

Meanwhile, Mr. Bunting has also called on the government to abandon attempts to pursue hangings in the country.
