Govt Reintroduces National Youth Awards

The government has reintroduced the Prime Minister’s National Youth Awards for Excellence after a three-year break.

Nominations are now opened and will run until August 31.

State Minister for Education and Youth, Floyd Green says Science and Technology and Environmental Protection have been added to the categories for the youth award.

He says the country will fall behind unless we become leaders in science and technology.

Mr. Green says there will be some exciting changes to existing award categories.

He says a new community-based award has been created to commemorate Jamaica’s 55th year of independence.

Floyd Green, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, speaking at a media briefing at the Ministry of Education yesterday.
