Govt to Open Two ‘Time-Out’ Facilities in September

The Ministry of Education will be opening two “timeout” facilities this month, to help students with psycho-social challenges.

Director for Education Services in the Ministry’s Region 1, Dr. Kasan Troupe, says the facilities will ensure these students get special support.

Dr. Troupe says the students will receive professional psychological support.

She adds that the Ministry is starting two timeout centers, but intends to eventually open more across the island.

And veteran educator and former principal, Esther Tyson, is welcoming the announcement.
