Gov’t War Against Contraband Forcing Price Increases On The Black Market – Chang


National Security Minister, Dr Horace Chang, says efforts by the government to intercept contraband being smuggled out of the country have resulted in an increase in the price of guns on the black market.

Dr Chang says while there has been increased vigilance at customs and border patrol improvements are needed.

Minister Chang says the government has a comprehensive plan that is also designed to target the root causes of the issue.

He says despite the criticism of not having a crime plan, the government’s crime fight is bearing fruit.

He was addressing a Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency General Meeting at the Heart College of Technology and Innovation in St James, today.
