The Police in Hanover say an incident this morning in which gunmen killed a 14 year old boy and his 20 year old brother is believed to be related to the lottery scam.
Reports reaching Nationwide News are that gunmen invaded the family home, killing the two and injuring two others.
It’s a family worst nightmare.
It was 5 minutes to 2 this morning, when gunmen descended on the family of 5 in the community of Malcolm Heights located in the parish capital.
Like a rebel group, upon entering the premises, they opened fire on the family house:
Christopher Taylor, the stepfather of the family, was to become the first victim of the tragedy.
So says a close relative of the family who asked to remain nameless, out of fear.
One of the strayed bullets killed Leon Grant, also know as Peh-pep, the 14-year-old student of the Rhodes Hall High School:
But more was to come: after gaining entrance to the house, the gunmen pulled 20 year old Travis McKenzie, also know as Shane, out of the house and killed him on spot.
Another relative of the family was also injured in the incident: she has been treated and released from hospital.
But Taylor remains hospitalized at the Cornwall regional hospital, baffling for his life.
The head of the the Hanover Police, Deputy Superintendent Artell Colley, says the police has theorized that the incident could be related to the lottery scam.
