Government Senator, Aubyn Hill, is rejecting a claim by Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Dr. Peter Phillips that the IMF has only given the Government a conditional pass on the 13th test.
Senator Hill says Dr. Phillips is inaccurate.
Dr. Phillips addressed a PNP constituency conference this week and said that when he was Finance Minister, the IMF indicated following various reviews that all quantitative targets have been met.
Phillips told the gathering that such language was not used by the IMF last week during a joint media conference it held last week with the current administration.
Last week, IMF Mission Chief Dr. Uma Ramakrishnan, said Jamaica’s Economic Programme remains on track and all targets have been met.
