Holness in No Race to Call Elections

Prime Minister Andrew Holness says he’s not yet ready to play the general elections card.

Mr Holness says he’s in no political race.

The Prime Minister was speaking at a JLP meeting in Brown’s Town St Ann last night, where he presented Senator Ruel Reid as the party’s candidate for the North West St Ann Constituency.

That constituency, now represented by the PNP’s Dayton Campbell is considered a battleground for the next general elections.

Mr Holness says previous Labour party-administrations have focussed on government. He says those previous administrations put all energies into government often neglecting the communication with the political work.

He says he’s not making that mistake and sees politics as important to setting good policies which are important to prosperity.

In presenting Ruel Reid, Mr Holness says he’s satisfied that Mr Reid is the right candidate for North West St Ann and that he would win the seat when elections are called.
