Prime Minister Andrew Holness says he’s a true believer in the principle of separation of powers which should govern the relationship between the executive, legislative and judicial arm of the state.
Mr. Holness has been facing criticism, for his move to appoint Bryan Sykes to Act of Chief Justice until Sykes proves in the job as a performer.
Several Attorneys, including former Prime Minister PJ Patterson and Justice Patrick Robinson, have argued that Mr. Holness is trespassing on the separation of powers principle.
Prime Minister Holness addressed a JLP meeting earlier this week and insisted that this is not so.
Mr. Holness says his administration is intensifying its push to reform the justice system.
