Two goals in a span of six minutes earned Motagua of Honduras a 2-nil win over Waterhouse in the first leg of the Scotiabank Concacaf League quarterfinals at the National Stadium, last night.

Waterhouse had a wealth of chances to open the scoring in the first hour but was unable to convert.

Stephen Williams shot wide in the 5th minute before Motagua Goalkeeper made a top-notch save on what looked like a sure Andre Fletcher goal in the 13th minute.

Things carried into the second half when Colorado Murray’s effort hit the post in the 60th minute.

But Motagua hung tough and would break the deadlock in the 66th minute.

With the lead, Kevin Lopez extended the advantage to 2-nil in the 72nd minute with a stunning left-footed strike.

A red card to Nicholy Finlayson in the 82nd made Waterhouse’s comeback task even tougher and Motagua was able to comfortably see things out to secure the win.
