House Approves $715m in Budgetary Support from Capital Development Fund

The House of Representatives has approved a resolution to withdraw $715-million from the Capital Development Fund, the CDF.

Finance Minister, Audley Shaw, says the funds are to be used for budgetary support.

Opposition Leader, Dr. Peter Phillips, is expressing concern about the viability of the Fund. He admits that successive administrations have had to use resources from it for budgetary support.

However, he’s concerned it’s being depleted.

Dr. Phillips and Mr Shaw were addressing the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
