Hummingbirds Take Game 1 of Berger Elite League Finals

Kingston Hummingbirds beat title favourites Manchester Spurs by 9-points to take a 1-0 lead in the best of three finals of the Netball Jamaica/Berger Elite league, at the National Arena, last night.

The teams traded points for most of the game before the Hummingbirds pull away for a 61-52 win.

Coach of the Hummingbirds, Marvett Anderson, says they’ll be coming even stronger to close out the tournament on Saturday.

Coach of the Spurs, Connie Francis, says she was disappointed in the performance of her players.

Meanwhile, St Ann Orchids beat St Catherine Racers 47-45 to win the third-place playoff.
