Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Anthony Hylton, has joined his Cabinet colleague, Phillip Paulwell, in condemning those gasoline retailers, who do not pass on the full benefits of oil price reductions to consumers.
Minister Hylton says that in too many instances, businesses are quick to react when the the price of inputs rise, but are reluctant to act when the price of those same inputs are reduced.
The Minister amde the comments yesterday while addressing a luncheon put on by the Small Business Association of Jamaica, in New Kingston.
Minister Hylton says he’s asked the Consumer Affairs Commission and the Fair Trading Commission to monitor the prices being charged by gasoline marketing companies.
