ICC Cricket World Cup: West Indies Beat Afghanistan By 23 Runs

Half centuries from Evin Lewis, Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran helped the West Indies to a 23-runs win over Afghanistan in their final preliminary round ICC Cricket match, at Headingley, in Leeds, today.

Batting first, the Windies made 311 for 6 off their 50 overs.

Hope’s 77 included 6-fours and 2-sixes.

Meanwhile, Lewis and Pooran each made 58.

Chasing 312 to win, Afghanistan were bowled out for 288, while Ikram Alikhil top scored with 86 for Afghanistan.
