Children across the island are expected to benefit from increased health subsidies effective today.
That’s according to Chief Executive Officer for the National Health Fund, NHF, Everton Anderson.
Mr. Anderson says the NHF will be increasing its subsidies on pharmaceuticals, respiratory devices and diabetic supplies for children.
He says the increased subsidy will mean a significant reduction in health expenses for parents.
The NHF says children with epilepsy, diabetes, sickle cell, glaucoma, arthritis, rheumatic fever and psychosis will also benefit from the increase.
The NHF says children will not be required to get a new card to access the benefits, as it is automatically applied at the pharmacy.
