Inflation Expectation Lowest on Record

Governor of the Bank of Jamaica, Brian Wynter, says inflation expectation among businesses has fallen to the lowest level on record.

He says inflation expectations in April were down significantly from the levels recorded in the Central Bank’s Inflation Expectation Survey in December last year.

Governor Wynter was speaking this afternoon at the BOJ’s Quarterly Monetary Press Briefing in downtown, Kingston.

The Central Bank Governor says perceptions about future inflation are becoming more realistic.

The inflation rate for the just ended 2014-2015 fiscal year was 4 percent – the lowest in 48 years.
