Senior Director of Modernisation and Strategic Projects in the National Security Ministry, Arvel Grant, says the interest being shown in the Jamaica Eye initiative is outperforming expectations.

The Jamaica Eye initiative was launched in March 2018.

It allows the government to remotely access the CCTV feeds of consenting private citizens.

Mr. Grant says many of those cameras have been installed in recent months.

He was speaking at a post sectoral press conference at Jamaica House yesterday.

According to Mr. Grant, the government has also completed construction of the site to be used as the central monitoring hub of Jamaica Eye.
