Ireland Defeats WI In Record-breaking T20 International


Ireland registered their first win of their tour of the Caribbean with a 4-run victory over the West Indies in the first game of their three match T20 International series at the national stadium, in Grenada.

Batting first, the tourists led by a half century from opener Paul Sterling, made 208 for 7 off their 20 overs.

Sterling’s 95 came off 47-balls and included 6-fours and 8-sixes.

He was well supported by Kevin O’Brien 48.

In reply, ODI hero Evin Lewis’ half century could not save the Windies as the were restricted to 204 for 7 off their 20 overs.

Lewis’ 53 included 6-fours and 3-sixes.

Josh Little finished with figures of 3 for 29 for Ireland.
