Track and field analyst, Hubert Lawrence, says the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) made the right decision to make Danielle Williams eligible to represent Jamaica in the women’s 100-metres hurdles at the 2019 International Association of Athletics Federations .
The JAAA initially say Williams would not be considered for selection due to her false start at the National Senior Trials in June.
However, on August 15, track and field local governing body announced Williams, has been deemed eligible for selection.
The JAAA say the 100-metres hurdles race at the National Senior Championships had been ruled null and void and that Williams’ disqualification could, therefore, not stand.
Lawrence says those in authority should have made the decision long ago.
