Jamaica Passes 8th IMF Test




Jamaica has passed its eighth IMF, test!

That’s according to the new IMF Head of Mission to Jamaica, Ms. Uma Ramakrishnan.

But Ms. Ramakrishnan says the country was granted a waiver for missing the targeted dollar amount for the Primary Surplus target.

The disclosure was made at a joint IMF-Ministry of Finance press briefing in Kingston this morning.

And, Finance Minister , Dr. Peter Phillips says although Jamaica has successfully completed all eight reviews under the program so far, challenges remain.
