Jamaica’s Golfers Eye Regional Championships


Jamaica’s golfers teed off at the Caribbean Golf Association Four- Ball Championships at the PGA National Resort & Spa at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, today.

Jamaica has sent an 18-member team to the competition. The fifty-four hole championship will, for the first time, showcase a full Jamaican team of ten competitors.

Eight other golfers are competing in individual spots.

President of the Jamaica Golf Association, Peter Chin, says the strategy of selecting the team early is geared toward helping Jamaica place better than last year.

Jamaica will compete for for the Ambrose Guthrie Cup, given to the best country team.

They’ll also compete for five other trophies.
