An export programme is to be developed for small and medium-sized businesses to help make them more globally competitive.
President of the Jamaica Exporters’ Association, JEA, Michelle Chong, says the programme is expected to be launched before the middle of the year.
She says there’ll be a full-fledged export curriculum to take small businesses to the heights of export.
It’s to be developed by the JEA in collaboration with the Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association, the Jamaica Business Development Corporation, JAMPRO and the EXIM Bank.
She made the disclosure while speaking at a packaging and labeling workshop hosted by the JEA at the Knutsford Court Hotel in St. Andrew on Friday.
