JGRA Questions PetroJam Pricing after Hurricane Harvey

The Jamaica Gasoline Retailers Association, JGRA, is questioning why Petrojam hasn’t fully lowered fuel prices following the passage of Hurricane Harvey, which resulted in several oil refineries in Texas temporarily closing in August.

JGRA President, Phillip Chong, is asking for more transparency in the way Petrojam sets its ex-refinery prices for fuel.

And, Mr. Chong is also calling on the government to lower it taxes on fuel.

This, after Finance Minister Audley Shaw called out gas retailers yesterday for not passing on decreases in gas prices to consumers.
