President of the Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association, JMA, Metry Seaga, says his organization is willing to work with the incoming JLP administration to turn its income tax proposal into reality.
The JLP campaigned on a promise to exempt workers who earn less than $1.5-million per annum, from PAYE liability.
Mr. Seaga says he’ll be holding the Prime Minister-elect Andrew Holness to that promise.
The much debated tax plan of the JLP is one step closer to reality with their election victory yesterday.
The Prime Minister-elect says the JLP has every intention of keeping its promise.
Mr. Seaga says the JMA will be holding the JLP accountable.
He says adjustments to the income tax proposal might still be needed.
Meanwhile, the JMA President says yesterday’s low voter turn out should be a wake up call to both political parties.
