Opposition Spokesperson on Education, Senator Kamina Johnson Smith is expressing serious concerns about the 2-point-5 billion dollars slashed from the education budget.
The budget was reduced from 84-billion dollars in 2013, to 81-point-5 billion last year.
It’s now been cut to 79-point-3 billion dollars for the upcoming fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the budget for early childhood education has been increased from 2-point-7 to 2-point-9 billion dollars.
However, Senator Johnson-Smith says it’s not an increase in real terms.
