JPS Emergency Load Shedding Leaves Thousands Without Power

Corporate Communications and Customer Service Director at the Jamaica Public Service Company, JPS, Winsome Callum has confirmed with Nationwide News that the light and power company was forced to undertake emergency load shedding this afternoon.

Thousands of customers in several parishes, including Kingston, St Andrew, Clarendon, Portland, and Hanover, were affected.

The outage occurred at 4:04 pm.

Customers were without power for almost an hour.
