A horrible accident has left a disabled man dead, after a Jamaica Urban Transit Company, JUTC, bus hit him this afternoon, in the vicinity of the University Hospital of the West Indies, in St. Andrew.
The man has been identified as Marlon King from the School of Hope.
He was wheelchair-bound.
Sergeant Anthony Hamilton of the Mona Police Department spoke with our reporter who visited the scene.
When Nationwide arrived on the scene, the man’s body had already been removed.
However, the victims blood, wheel chair and articles of clothing could still be seen on the road.
Member of Parliament for Eastern St. Andrew, Andre Hylton, described the event as saddening.

The driver of the JUTC bus was reportedly sent to hospital as the police say he was traumatized.
Meanwhile, the JUTC, in a statement a short while ago, say it’s expressing profound regret at the death of Marlon King.
The JUTC says it’s expressing its deepest and sincerest condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the victim.
