JUTC Meets to Address Worker Grievances

The management of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company, JUTC, is meeting with workers today to discuss grievances in an effort to avert another strike.

Drivers at the Jamaica Urban Transit Company, JUTC’s Spanish Town depot went on strike last week.

They’ve since returned to work in anticipation of today’s meeting.

They were protesting what they believed was the wrongful termination of 11 fellow drivers for supposed fraud.

The drivers are insisting that their colleagues be reinstated.

Vice President of the University and Allied Workers Union, UAWU, Clifton Grant, representing the dismissed workers, says he hopes the outcome of today’s meeting is amicable.
