KD Endorses Golding’s South St Andrew Bid

Another PNP bigwig has come out in support of Opposition Senator, Mark Golding, in the high profile contest to succeed Dr. Omar Davis as Member of Parliament for South St. Andrew.

Golding’s opponent is the former PNP General Secretary, Colin Campbell.

It’s a race which several PNP stakeholders have described as crucial to the future of the 78-year old party.

On the weekend – PNP elder, Opposition Senator and veteran Queen’s Counsel, KD Knight, joined those supporting Mark Golding.

So far Phillip Paulwell and Angela Brown Burke have declared their support for Colin Campbell.

Paulwell has told delegates of the safe PNP constituency that Colin Campbell is deserving of support because he has “taken a number of licks for the PNP”.

But incumbent MP Dr. Omar Davies and his colleague parliamentarians Morais Guy, Lisa Hanna, Ronald Thwaites and Peter Bunting have told delegates that Senator Golding’s track record of service should be endorsed.

In August – approximately 80-delegates will decide between Golding and Campbell. Senator Knight told delegates in Jungle that their future is safe with Mark Golding.

Mr. Knight says he’s impressed that Senator Golding is interested in succeeding Dr. Davies.
