The PNP’s Keisha Hayle has been formally nominated as the party’s candidate to contest the North West St. Andrew seat against the JLP’s Dr. Nigel Clarke.

Miss Hayle, who’s the Principal of Padmore Primary, was nominated at just after 11:30 this morning at the Pembroke Hall Community Center in the constituency

She was accompanied to the nomination center by PNP President, Peter Phillips, Party Chairman, Fitz Jackson and Vice Presidents, Wykeham McNeil and Fenton Ferguson.

A crowd of PNP supporters and other members of the PNP top brass also accompanied Miss Hayle to the nomination center.

The nomination process was to begin at 10:30 this morning. However, it was delayed because Miss Hayle reportedly did not have her Tax Registration Number, TRN card with her. She sent someone to retrieve the document and the nomination process was formalized

Miss Hayle told the media shortly after her nomination, that she’s confident of victory in the March 5 by-election. Dr. Phillips described Hayle as the best candidate to represent the party in the constituency.

The JLP’s Dr. Nigel Clarke is to be nominated at 1:30 this afternoon.

The North West St. Andrew by-election was called last week by Prime Minister Andrew Holness, several weeks after the long-standing MP, Derrick Smith, resigned.
