Fagan Backs Bunting, Phillips Sticking With Party President


The Councillor for the Papine Division in East St. Andrew, Venesha Phillips says she’s supporting Dr. Phillips in his bid to hold on to the PNP Presidency.

This, while another Opposition MP has come out in support of Peter Bunting’s challenge to Dr. Peter Phillips’ Presidency of the PNP.

South East St. Catherine Member of Parliament, Colin Fagan, says he’s decided to support Mr. Bunting.

Mr. Fagan says he’s made the decision after having had consultation with potential voters.

According to Mr. Fagan, there’s strong resistance to Dr. Phillips continuing to lead the PNP.

He says it’s difficult to convince significant sections of the electorate that the incumbent PNP President is the man to lead the party and Jamaica.

Mr. Fagan joins, Mark Golding, Dr. Dayton Campbell, Michael Stewart and Ian Hayles as MPs who’ve publicly declared their support for Peter Bunting.

Phillip Paulwell, Dr. Morais Guy, Mikael Phillips, Natalie Neita, Lisa Hanna and Dr. Wykeham McNeil have publicly declared their support for Dr. Peter Phillips.
