The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation, KSAMC will be embarking on a two-month long drain cleaning programme across the 40-divisions in the municipality.
Following yesterday’s monthly sitting of the KSAMC, Deputy Mayor of Kingston, Winston Ennis, said the operation is designed to mitigate against potential flooding during the hurricane season.
He says the operation will be conducted in two phases, starting this week.
Deputy Mayor Ennis says both phases of the drain cleaning programme should be completed by September this year.
Mr Ennis also named the divisions scheduled to benefit from the first phase of the massive drain cleaning initiative.
