Latest Traffic Ticket Amnesty Pulls in Over $250m

Communications Officer at Tax Administration Jamaica, TAJ, Leighton Beckles says over $250-million has been collected in the government’s latest traffic ticket amnesty.

The latest amnesty ended on Saturday.

He says in the last two days of the amnesty, there was a significant increase in payment.

Last Friday morning when Nationwide News spoke with the Director of Communications at TAJ, Merris Haughton, she says the entity had collected $150-million.

Between Friday and Saturday night, the entity would have collected over a hundred millions dollars more. Mr. Beckles says using the TAJ’s online platform to make payments continues to increase.
