Lennox Channer is New NHT Chairman

The new Chairman of the National Housing Trust, NHT, has been named.

He’s Lennox Channer, a Vice President of the Jamaica Broilers Group. His appointment was announced yesterday by Prime Minister Andrew Holness.

The Prime Minister was speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony for a new housing start in Lucea, Hanover.

Mr. Channer who was a previous member of the board replaces outgoing Chairman, Dr. Nigel Clarke.

Clarke who now serves as Minister of Finance entered the House of Representatives earlier this year after winning the by-election for the constituency of North West St. Andrew.

Prime Minister Holness says it’s the intention of the board to ensure that more houses are built over his tenure than at any other time in the history of the NHT.
