Licensed Firearm Holder Takes Down Three Would-be Robbers


A licensed firearm holder is in the hospital this afternoon and three gunmen dead following an attempted robbery in St. Catherine last night.

Police reports are that the gunmen were fatally shot by the licensed firearm holder, during an attempted robbery at premises in Port Henderson in Portmore, St. Catherine.

A Berretta 9 millimeter pistol with a magazine containing seventeen 9-millimetre rounds of ammunition was among the guns seized during the incident.

Reports are that about 9:15 p.m., the licensed firearm holder drove into the premises when he was attacked by three armed men who opened fire hitting him.

The licensed firearm holder returned gunfire and the assailants were shot.

The Police say they were alerted and all four persons were taken to hospital where the gunmen were pronounced dead.

The licensed firearm holder was admitted in serious condition.

Investigations continue.
