Local Insurance Industry Heats Up, Insiders Predict More Access For Jamaicans

Executive Director of the Insurance Association of Jamaica, Orville Johnson, says it’s a good time for the industry, as more people can now afford to insure life and property.

He was speaking on Nationwide @ 5 last evening during a special outside broadcast of Sagicor Life Jamaica’s launch of its E-Life platform.

The initiative is designed to make insurance more accessible to the youth population that depends heavily on the use of digital technologies and communication.

Mr Johnson commended the move.

Mr Johnson says the move is innovative.

He says insurance companies have to carefully strategise to reach the youth population.

Stevian Simmonds is an investigative journalist with almost 3 years of experience in radio broadcasting, production and reporting. She graduated from Caribbean School of Media and Communication in 2014 and joined Nationwide News in 2016.
