Nationwide News understands that Major General Stewart Saunders is to be separated from his job as Permanent Secretary in the National Security Ministry.

Saunders’ contract expired on June 30 this year.

Our sources say his contract will not be renewed. Saunders is currently on vacation leave.

He’s expected to officially demit office when he returns in a few days time.

The recently published Commission of Enquiry report accused Major General Saunders of dereliction of duty and incompetence.

The Enquiry said it would have recommended that Saunders never again serve in internal security operations had he still been the Chief of Staff of the Jamaica Defence Force.
