The bus conductor charged a week ago with the murder of the St Thomas schoolgirl Kayalicia Simpson is to have his first day in court in the matter today in the Yallahs Resident Magistrate’s Court.
The police charged 29-year-old Damion Ewin of Newland Housing Scheme in Yallahs, St Thomas with Kayalicia’s murder last Wednesday.
Officers also charged him committing sexual offences against the teenager.
Kayalicia, who was 14, was found dead at her home on March 3, this year, with multiple chop wounds to the head and neck.
It’s reported that the girl had gone to her outside bathroom to prepare for school when she was attacked.
A post mortem revealed that Kaylacia was pregnant.
