Manchester High Coach Threatens to Pull Out of U16 Cricket Final


Coach of Manchester High school, Barry Barnes, says the school maybe forced to withdraw from the final of the all-island ISSA /Grace Kennedy Under-16 cricket competition.

The two-day final was set to begin at the Melbourne Oval, with Manchester taking on Wolmer’s Boys, today.

However, Barnes says Wolmer’s has requested a change of date because the some of their athletes are sitting exams. Barnes says this is the fouth time the match has been rescheduled.

Barnes doesn’t believe the school will be sanctioned if they are unable to contest the final whenever a new date is set. He says Cricket is not receiving the same respect as track and field and football.
