Mandeville Regional Hospital: Almost A Week After Miscarriage, Multiple Women Await Removal Of Their Babies


At least eight women at the Mandeville Regional Hospital, have been waiting since Monday to have surgeries to remove their unborn babies who’ve died.

The distraught women say their procedures are continuously re- scheduled. One of the women spoke with our News Center yesterday.

She says she was two months pregnant when her unborn baby died. The woman, who asked us not to share her name, says she’s yet to understand what caused the tragedy.

She says she was admitted to the Mandeville Regional Hospital on Monday.

She says some other women with similar cases have been in the hospital since Saturday.

In the meantime, the hospital says all the surgeries should have been completed yesterday.

Public Relations Officer at the Mandeville Regional Hospital, Latoya Brown, says the procedures were initially scheduled for Wednesday.

She says the procedures were pushed back due to other emergency operations.

She says all the cases have been assessed and the emergency ones are done first.
