Nationwide New understands that Marlene Lynch-Aldred is to be named the new Solicitor General.

Mrs Aldred is currently the Acting Solicitor-General and also heads the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Division.

She’s been employed to the Attorney General’s Chambers since 1995.

Meanwhile, when our news centre contacted Attorney General Marlene Malahoo Forte last evening to confirm the appointment, she said she was unable to speak on the record.

But, Mrs. Malahoo-Forte says an announcement is scheduled for today.

Mrs Lynch-Aldred is to replace former Solicitor General, Nicole Foster-Pusey.

Ms Foster-Pusey recently resigned as Solicitor General and was appointed an Appeal’s Court judge earlier this year.
