McKenzie Writes AG to Investigate Irregularities at NSWMA, Hanover Parish Council

Opposition Spokesman on Local Government, Desmond McKenzie, has written to the Auditor General requesting that she investigate financial irregularities at the National Solid Waste Management Authority and the Hanover Parish Council.

In his letter to Pamela Monroe Ellis, Mr. McKenzie pointed to an internal audit of the NSWMA, which revealed that more than half a billion dollars was unaccounted for, among other irregularities.

He also references the Contractor General’s probe into the contracting processes at the Hanover Parish Council, which found that the family of the former Lucea Mayor, Shernet Haughton benefited from contracts.
