Permanent Secretary in the Education Ministry, Dr. Grace McLean, says she and other members of staff have been interviewed by the Financial Investigations Division, FID.
Dr. McLean says she can only speculate that the interview is in relation to ongoing investigations being discussed in the public domain.
It was confirmed by Police Commissioner, Major General Antony Anderson, that former Education Minister, Ruel Reid, is currently under investigation.
It’s also been reported that agencies which report to the Ministry of Education are being probed.
It’s believed this contributed to Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ decision to request Minister Reid’s resignation.
When asked if she was shocked by the sudden resignation of the Minister, Dr. McLean had this to say.
