President of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, PSOJ, Howard Mitchell is calling for the Jamaican dollar to be pegged to the US dollar.

Mr Mitchell says there’s no confidence in the management of the exchange rate.

The PSOJ President says devaluation is a curse.

He says Jamaica is suffering from maladjusted pride.

And, he’s again pointing to the rapid changes in the value of the Jamaican dollar, saying it makes it extremely difficult for businesses to plan.

He was speaking yesterday at the Jamaica International Exhibition Business Breakfast held at the S Hotel in St James.
