MOCA Slaps District Constable with 9 Fraud Charges

A District Constable has been charged with nine counts of fraud by detectives of the Major Organized Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency, MOCA.

He is Vaughn Green, a District Constable attached to the National Police College of Jamaica, NPCJ.

The District Constable was charged last Friday with Fraudulent Conversion and Diversion of Government Property.

It’s alleged that between September and October of 2014, Green fleeced approximately sixty thousand dollars from a Gas Advance Card for a defective service vehicle.

This vehicle, assigned to the NPCJ, was taken to the Transport Management and Maintenance Division, TMMD, to undergo repairs.

The Constable’s supervisor was informed that the card was being used whilst the vehicle was out of service.

The accused was subsequently informed of the allegations and he admitted to using the Gas Advance Card to obtain money and petrol for his personal use.

The matter was reported to MOCA and an investigation launched.

A file was later submitted to the DPP who ruled that he be charged.

The Constable appeared before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court earlier today to answer the charges.
