Montague Commends Cops for Decline in Major Crime

National Security Minister, Robert Montague, is praising the Jamaica Constabulary Force for its efforts which he says have led to a reduction in major crimes.

Figures from the Statistics and Information Management Unit of the JCF, show an overall 10 percent reduction in most categories of serious and violent crimes for the period January 1, 2016 to June 4, 2016.

They also indicate an overall 2-percent reduction in murders when compared to the same period last year.

Minister Montague applauded the efforts of the force.

Minister Montague says citizens and civic organizations should also be commended as they’ve have invested in law and order, by giving up some civil liberties over the years.
