The police in St. James say 43 women and 33 men were detained today in coordinated operations between 1am-3am in Montego Bay.
The operations were conducted by a team comprising the St James Police, the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch, C-TOC and the Mobile Reserve.
The operations were carried out in areas such as Gloucester Avenue, Harbour Street, Church Street, Market Street, St James Street and the Charles Gordon Market.
Four unlicensed clubs were also ordered closed and their operators warned for prosecution.
Head of the St. James Police, Senior Superintendent Steve McGregor, says the operations were aimed at restoring normality to the city.
He says the police will continue to work to restore and then maintain law and order in all parts of Montego Bay.
