The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, PSOJ, is launching a special initiative to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs, get easier access to credit.
The initiative is called the Access to Finance Facilitation Panel for SMEs. It’s in collaboration with the Jamaica Bankers Association, the MSME Alliance, and several other stakeholders.
Vice President of the PSOJ, Keith Duncan, says it begins with a workshop next week, at which MSMEs will be able to sit at the table with the banks and work through the issues they have accessing credit.
The event is not open to the public, but is for special invitees. Duncan says the launch will also be streamed live on Facebook. He says the launch will be followed by a moderated discussion, and then a series of workshops.
The PSOJ Vice President says they’re hoping for quick wins.
